In this article, we will instuct how to format the camera's SD card directly from the camera settings.
If you want to learn more about the SD card, you can find information here.
Good to know about formatting
We recommend formatting the SD card each time it is inserted into the trail camera. Our recommendation for formatting also applies to new SD cards.
Formatting completely erases the SD card, and lost files or whatever else may have been on the SD card cannot be recovered. If there are files on the SD card that are evaluated for storage, we recommend that you transfer them to security or copy them, for example, to a computer before formatting the SD card.
Formatting the SD card
The easiest way to format the SD card is directly from the camera settings when the card is inserted in the camera. Formatting completely erases the SD card, so the easiest way is to erase the SD card from all files.
Formatting can be done as follows:
- Turn the camera's power switch to the SETUP position. The power switch on the camera S22WA should be set to the ON position.
- Press the Menu button on the camera. On the camera S22WA, this button can be found at the top right, where four squares are displayed.
- Press the left arrow key to navigate to the System submenu (gear image in the top row).
- Use the down arrow to navigate to the row "Format : Enter" and press the OK button on the camera.
- Press the left arrow key once to display the OK text inside the green box. Press OK again, the SD card is formatted. The inscription "formatting" or "format" sometimes appears on the camera screen. If you do not want to format the memory card, you can cancel the operation by pressing the Menu button on the camera.
- After the camera has formatted the SD card, the camera returns to the System submenu.
Note! Deleting all files from the SD card does not replace formatting the card. We still recommend formatting the SD card each time it is inserted into the camera.
