S22WA: Turning the capture mode on (arming the camera)

This article briefly explains how to arm your camera and turn on the capture mode on your Burrel S22WA camera in order to start taking pictures and/or videos. The camera must also be in the correct mode to receive remote commands via SMS. If the camera is not in the correct mode, the camera does not save files to the SD card or execute remote commands it receives.

General information about turning the capture mode on

Generally, when you move the camera's power switch to the ON position, the camera's LED indicator usually flashes between 10-13 times depending on the camera model at 1 second interval before it is armed, and the capture mode is turned on. During these seconds, the camera does not take any pictures. When the camera has stopped flashing, the camera is armed and will automatically start taking photos and/or videos when it registers something in front of the PIR sensor. With the Burrel S22WA it's a little different.

Turning the capture mode on

The S22WA camera does not arm in the same way as other cameras when the power switch is in the ON position, but this happens either automatically after a long time or manually on the camera. Below you will find three different ways to arm your camera.  Like other cameras, the S22WA camera does not take photos while the LED indicator is flashing, but only when it is armed and in capture mode.

  1. Automatically. Move the camera's power switch to the ON position and wait 5 minutes. The LED indicator will flash during this time if the camera detects movement in front of the PIR sensor. When the camera is armed and capture mode is turned on, the camera's screen blacks out.
  2. Manually. When the camera power switch is in the ON position, the camera is connected to the network, and found the settings, press and hold the left arrow button on the camera for about one second. The camera asks "ArmCamera". Press the OK button to arm the camera. The camera screen will blacken, and the LED indicator will start flashing. After about 10 seconds, the camera is armed and the capture mode is turned on.
  3. Manually. The camera can be activated in its settings as follows: ON mode -> Menu -> System submenu -> ArmCamera : Enter -> OK. The camera's screen will blacken, and the LED indicator will start flashing. After about 10 seconds, the camera is armed, and the capture mode is turned on.

Note! When the camera is armed, and you press any button on the camera, the camera will enter the SETUP mode.
