In this article, we briefly explain the ports on the S22WA camera and how to install cards into the camera.
S22WA Camera Ports
To locate the ports on the S22WA camera:
- Open the front cover of the camera.
- Press the "Eject" button in the lower right corner of the camera.
- Remove the battery compartment from the camera.
- You will now see the inside of the camera as shown in the image below, along with the camera ports.
Micro USB
A Micro USB cable allows you to connect the camera to a computer, for example, to update the firmware.
Micro SD
The S22WA camera can send images without a memory card if it has software version 2024/07/12. However, features like video recording, manual test images, and software updates require a memory card. We ALWAYS recommend using a memory card.
Use a Micro SD card (max. 32 GB, speed class 6, 10, or UHS-1). You can find more information about memory cards here.
How to insert the Micro SD memory card into the camera:
- Check the card icon inside the camera (see the image above).
- The notch on the memory card should be on the left side.
- The text side of the memory card should face downward.
- Note that the card reader has a spring mechanism. It may break if the card is forced into the camera with excessive force or inserted incorrectly.
- Format the memory card in the camera settings before use. You can find instructions here.
Nano SIM Card
The camera uses the smallest possible SIM card size, which is a Nano SIM card.
How to insert the Nano SIM card into the camera:
- Check the card icon inside the camera (see the image above).
- The notch on the SIM card should be in the upper right corner.
- The chip on the SIM card should face upwards.
- Note that the card reader has a spring mechanism. It may break if the card is forced into the camera with excessive force or inserted incorrectly.
Note! New cameras come pre-installed with Elisa's Device SIM card, which must be activated separately on website at devicesim.com if you wish to use it. The camera can also be used with another SIM card, but please ensure that the SIM card’s PIN code request is disabled.
12 V DC port
The 12 V DC port allows you to connect the camera to an external power source, such as an external battery or mains power. Note that the S22WA camera uses a 12 V power source, which should also be considered when using battery cables.
NOTE! External power should only be used outside when the battery compartment is attached to the camera.
