The ports on the Burrel camera (excluding S22WA)

In this article, we briefly explain the ports on the Burrel cameras excluding model S22WA and how to install cards into the camera.

Camera Ports

To locate the ports on the camera:

  • Open the front cover of the camera.
  • The camera's ports are located on the left side and the bottom of the camera, as shown in the images below.

Mini SIM Card
The camera uses a Mini SIM card size.

How to insert the Mini SIM card into the camera:

  • Check the location of the SIM card slot in the image above.
  • Next to the SIM card slot, you will find an icon indicating the correct orientation of the card.
  • The notch on the SIM card should be positioned at the top left.
  • The chip side of the SIM card should be facing downward.
  • Note that the reader has a spring mechanism. It may get damaged if the card is forced into the camera with excessive force or inserted incorrectly.

Note! New cameras come pre-installed with our recommended Elisa Device SIM card, which must be activated separately on website at devicesim.com if you wish to use it. You may also use another SIM card in the camera. In this case, please ensure that the SIM card's PIN code request is disabled.

SD/SDHC Card

The camera needs a recommended memory card to function. The N24 and E24 cameras can send images without a memory card. However, certain functions such as video recording, manual test shots, and software updates require a memory card. We always recommend using a memory card.

Use a Micro-SD card (max. 32 GB, speed class 6, 10, or UHS-1). You can find more information about memory cards here.

How to insert an SD/SDHC memory card into the camera:

  • Check the location of the memory card slot in the image above.
  • Next to the memory card slot, you will find an icon indicating the correct orientation of the card.
  • The sliding switch on the memory card should be on the left side.
  • The notch on the memory card should be positioned at the top right.
  • The text side of the memory card should be facing upward.
  • Note that the reader has a spring mechanism. It may get damaged if the card is forced into the camera with excessive force or inserted incorrectly.
  • Format the memory card in the camera settings before first use. You can find the instructions here.

Mini USB
You can use a Mini USB cable to connect the camera to a computer, for example, to perform software updates. Note that the E24 camera does not have a USB port.

6 V DC Port
Using the DC Port, you can connect the camera to an external power source, such as an external battery or mains power. Note that Burrel cameras, except S22WA, use a 6V power source, which should also be considered when selecting a battery cable.
