How to update

Below are instructions on how to update your camera based on the file type. First, download the correct firmware from above, then check whether the file is an .OTA or .BIN file. Second, select the correct instruction below.

Windows and Mac should have built-in functionality to open .zip files. If you have any problems opening the .zip-file you can contact to our Support by creating a request. We can send you an unzipped file.

NOTE! The camera password that protects the camera settings from outsiders must be turned off in the camera settings before updating the camera. Additionally, the camera tracker must be turned off in the S22WA camera. Ensure that the change has been saved to the camera before updating it. If the password or tracker is on when updating the camera, the defined password will no longer work, and you will not be able to access the camera settings. In this case, the camera must be sent for out-of-warranty service.

How to update a newer camera (.OTA-file)
1. Put the camera first to OFF-mode. Move the .ota file to the root/main folder of the camera's SD card. Either use the supplied USB cable to connect the camera to the computer or remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into the computer or a card reader. After transferring the file, remove the USB cable or insert the memory card back into the camera.
2. Start the camera in SETUP mode by moving the power switch to the centre position.
3. Once the camera has started up, press the MENU button to open the settings, then go to the system page (gear icon), you can move around using the arrow buttons. In the settings page, scroll down until you see "Update", press OK when "Update" is selected and press OK to confirm the update.
4. When the update is complete, you will need to restore the default settings. Press the MENU button to return to Settings and go to the System page. To restore the default settings, press the down arrow and locate "Default settings", when selected, press OK and select OK and press OK button.
5. Restoring the default settings activates the automatic send settings. If your camera has Burrel+, the default sending setting is Burrel+-Service and without Burrel+ it is Email.
6. Adjust the rest of the camera settings using the arrow keys (mode, sensitivity, shooting delay, remote control, email address, phone number), but do not touch the send settings.
7. The camera is now ready for use. Make sure the camera is sending images before using the camera on site.

In Burrel+ cameras you must upload the camera settings to the server, otherwise the camera will lose them after rebooting. To upload camera settings, press "Menu", then go to the "Wireless" page, press the down arrow and select "Upload settings", press the OK button.
How to update an older camera (.BIN-file)
1. Extract the .bin update file from the -zip-file. Note that the firmware file cannot be opened on your computer, only read by the camera.
2. Remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into the computer. Alternatively, connect the camera to your computer using the USB cable (camera must be in OFF-mode).
3. Move the .bin file to the root folder of the camera's memory card.
4. Replace the memory card in the camera or disconnect the USB cable.
5. If the camera is running, turn it off.
6. Hold down the PLAY button (the triangle between the Menu and Delete buttons) and slide the power switch to the SETUP position.
7. Hold down the PLAY button until the camera starts up normally.
8. The software will now be updated.
9.When the update is complete, you will need to restore the default settings. Press the MENU button to return to Settings and go to the System page. To restore the default settings, press the down arrow and locate "Default settings", when selected, press OK and select OK and press OK button.

Note! The camera cannot be updated remotely, because the updating is done through camera's SD card. In addition, the camera's power switch must be moved to update the camera.
