The new Burrel App FAQ

In this support article you will find answers to frequently asked questions. Please note that this article is being updated.

What is new in the Burrel app?

The Burrel app will replace the old Burrel+ app. It is completely redesigned to elevate your trail camera experience. We have listened closely to your feedback and have rebuilt the app from the ground up.

Here are some core features of the new Burrel app:

  • Easy and quick camera setup with a user-friendly interface.
  • Receive instant alerts to your phone when your camera detects activity.
  • Navigate through images and videos rapidly to locate the ideal trail camera captures, saving you time compared to awkward interfaces.
  • Share your moments seamlessly on social media platforms, email and other third-party applications including the WeHunt app.
  • Grant camera viewing access through the Burrel app to your friends for shared viewing experiences. Your friends can see everything happening on camera in real time.
  • Seamlessly integrates Tracker app's high-quality maps, allowing you to add your camera locations to the map. You can also use the map for other outlook activities.
  • Utilize the Burrel app with any email-enabled trail camera brand. The new app also works with Burrel 2G cameras.

How to get the new Burrel app?

The new Burrel app is available for download from the app stores in stages during week 23. All you need to do is update the old Burrel+ app, or if you are a new user, download the Burrel app from the app store. You can find more information about installation, updating and release notes for the latest version here.

Do I need a camera Burrel ID when updating to the new app?

We recommend using the same username and login method in Burrel app as for the old Burrel+ service. Then the cameras transfer automatically, and Burrel ID is not required. If you are using the new Burrel app with a different username or login method than in the old Burrel+ service, you will need to add cameras to the new app using their Burrel ID. Cameras do not automatically transfer if you use a different username or login method that the one you use for Burrel+.

If you are new to the Burrel app and have not used Burrel+ before and your camera has a Burrel ID, you will need to add your camera to the app using its Burrel ID.

If you have any trail camera that sends email, you can use the new Burrel app. You can find detailed instructions on how to add your camera to the new Burrel app under the header "How to add a camera without Burrel ID to the new Burrel app?" below.

How to add camera without Burrel ID to new Burrel app?

If you have a trail camera that sends email, you can use the new Burrel app regardless of the camera brand. The addition method depends on whether you have a Burrel camera, or if you intend to use the app with a camera of another brand.

Adding a camera to the app is done as follows:

Burrel Camera

  • If the camera has not been connected to the network and sent photos by email, ask the camera for a photo by email.
  • In the email you receive from the camera, where the photo is, there is a link. Press this link and instructions for adding the camera will open on the screen. In addition, you will see a QR code and below it the Burrel ID created by the app, with which you can add the camera to the Burrel app.
  • Add the camera with the QR code or type the ID visible under the QR code in the app in the "Add Devide ID" field. If needed, you can find this by pressing "Add Camera" button in Cameras submenu.
  • When the camera appears in the app, the addition has been successful.

To add a camera of another brand

  • After logging into the Burrel account where you want to add the camera, press the "Add Camera" button.
  • Then, at the bottom of the site, choose "Add a camera of another brand".
  • Specify the receiving email address in the camera settings displayed on the screen provided by the Burrel app.
  • Continue to follow the instructions provided by the Burrel app.

Note! If you need help specifying the receiving email address in camera settings, you can find it here.

Will Burrel+ work even if the new Burrel app is released?

When you update the existing Burrel+ app with a version that can be found in the app store, the new Burrel app will automatically update for you. The old Burrel+ app is no longer available in app stores.

Unfortunately, due to our transition to the new system (from Burrel+ to the new Burrel app), the old web version of Burrel+ (burrelplus.com) will no longer be accessible after the new Burrel app is released. A new web version will be available in 2024. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding during this transition period.

Is Burrel app also available as web version?

At this point, we only have an app version available, as unfortunately it was not ready in connection with the app. A new web version of the app will be available during 2024. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding during this transition period.

I cannot find my camera in the new app

Make sure you are using the same username and login method as you used with the old Burrel+ service. In this case, the cameras will automatically transfer.

You can add cameras to the new app using their Burrel ID. If you have lost your camera's Burrel ID and can no longer find the Quick Setup Guide that came with your camera and the Burrel ID on the cover, contact Burrel Technical Support. You can submit a support ticket here. Include the camera's IMEI code in your support request, otherwise the support will not be able to help you. If necessary, you can find more information in this article where to find the IMEI code of your camera.

My camera stopped working due to this new app!

The system change from the old Burrel+ service to the new Burrel app does not affect the camera's transmission feature or settings. If the camera stops working, the reason is then in the camera, not in the system change. Even if you cannot log in to the new app, for example, the camera will still work with the same way as before.

Password does not work

If you are logging in to the new Burrel app for the first time and have used Burrel+ before, check that you are using correct credentials (username/password combination or Google/Apple) to sign in to the new Burrel app. We recommend using the same credentials and the login method that were used in the old Burrel+ service. "Forgot Password?" button will not work unless the Burrel app account has been verified (=a completely new user account is created, which will then be verified via your own email) or logged in with the credentials used in Burrel+. If you still cannot sign in, try a different login method.

If you use Google or Apple to sign in to the Burrel app, you do not have a separate password generated by the Burrel app. In this case, you will use either a Google or Apple password. If you are having trouble with these passwords, you can find help here for Google and here for Apple.

If you have already signed in to the Burrel app at least once and cannot remember your password, press the "Forgot password?" button below the "Log in" button. In the field, enter the email address that will act as your user account and press the "Send email" button under the heading "Forgot password?". You will receive an email with a link. By clicking on this link, you will be able to set a new password for the Burrel app. Finally, be sure to save the change. If you do not receive an email to reset your password, check your spam or junk folder. If necessary, press the "Forgot password?" button again and request a password reset. If you also do not receive another reset email, try logging into the Burrel app using another method.

How do I verify my email address

You will need to verify your email address the first time you sign up for the new Burrel app OR use a different username than your old in Burrel+ service. You will receive an email with a link to the email address you want to use as your username in the Burrel app. Confirm your email address by clicking the link. Once the email is verified, you will immediately see the account verification information on the screen. After that, you will be able to log in to the Burrel app.

I am not receiving an email to verify my account

If you do not receive an email to verify your account, check your spam or junk email folder and try signing up again.

If you are unable to register your account, please contact Burrel Technical Support for assistance. You can create a support request here. If you have multiple emails, please include your Burrel app username (email) in your support request.

What happens to my photos on Burrel+ if I start using the new Burrel app?

If you use the same credentials and the same login method in Burrel app as in the old Burrel+ service, all cameras will automatically transfer to the new Burrel app, as will your most recent hundred photos. To transfer more photos, press the "Transfer more pictures" button in the Burrel app, mark photos you want to transfer and press "Transfer selected" button to complete the task. Note that the "Transfer more pictures" button is only activated in the camera settings if additional photos are found in Burrel+.

If you are using different credentials in the Burrel app than in the old Burrel+ service, you must first need to add the camera to the app with its Burrel ID. Then, in the Burrel app, navigate to Cameras submenu. If the camera has been previously registered on Burrel+ and there are photos sent by the camera, there will be a "Send e-mail" button in camera details. Press this button. You will receive an email at the email address that the camera was registered to on Burrel+. Click the "Transfer the photos" button in the email you receive, and the latest hundred photos will transfer from Burrel+ to the new Burrel app. To transfer more photos, press the "Transfer more photos" in the Burrel app and select the photos you want to transfer. Finally, press the "Transfer selected" button to transfer the selected photos to the Burrel app.

Note! You can transfer photos from Burrel+ to the new Burrel app until the end of September 2024. The Burrel+ server will then be shut down and migration will no longer be possible.

How much does Burrel app cost?

The app will become paid in autumn 2024, at which time you can continue using the paid full version or switch to the free limited version. Until then, the full version of the app is free to use. We update information about subscriptions, prices, etc. to this article.

In which countries is the Burrel app available?
Burrel cameras are sold in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. The Burrel app works in these countries and is not found in the app stores of other countries.

How long can I use the old Burrel+ service?

Burrel+ app will be available until the end of September 2024. This is possible for those who have downloaded the old Burrel+ app to their devices before the launch of the new Burrel app. Unfortunately, the web version of Burrel (burrelplus.com) is no longer available due to the transition to the new app. After September 2024, the Burrel+ service and Burrel+ server will cease to exist.

No later than the end of September 2024, Burrel+ app users will need to update the app to the new Burrel app. Alternatively, you can set the camera to send photos directly to your phone or email.

How do I remove my camera from the Burrel app?

To remove a camera, you must first log in to the user account to which the camera is registered in the Burrel app. After that, navigate to the Cameras submenu of the app and select the "Camera settings" button to the camera you want to remove. At the bottom, you will find the "Delete device" option. Select this. To confirm the removal of the camera, enter the code displayed on the screen in the open field according to the onscreen instructions. Once the camera is removed and no longer appears in the app, the camera can be added immediately to another Burrel user account.

Note! Deleting the camera will also irreversibly remove all photos and videos sent by the camera to the app.

How do I delete my account on the Burrel app?

To delete your Burrel account, you must first log in to the user account you want to delete in the Burrel app. Press the "Settings" submenu in lower right corner of the app, and then press the username bar (your email is shown there) immediately below the Settings heading. At the bottom, you will find the "Delete account" option. Select this. You will see a confirmation message on the screen. By pressing the "Delete" button, you will receive a Burrel account deletion request by email. By clicking the "Permanently delete my account" button in the received email, your user account will be deleted.

Note! Deletion a user account automatically deletes all cameras associated with that Burrel user account. Cameras can be immediately added to a new Burrel user account.
